Nastashia is an old soul. They speak so fluidly and calmly and knowingly, and our conversation ranges from her deeply explored emotional landscape, to impostor syndrome with their creative endeavors, to wise and thoughtful reflections on what it means to walk through staggering loss.

We talk about compounded grief- what it’s like to lose someone dear to you, and before the grief has even begun to start unfolding, more loss comes. About the really complex dynamics of grief around a mother who struggled with addiction, and the pain of losing her a second time after reconnecting and finding hope in a rekindled relationship.
