The Death of a Podcast

It's time. Reckoning the Podcast has been an amazing project, and one I forever grateful for. But, it's time to say goodbye. I can think of nothing more fitting than embodying the wisdom of letting go by bringing this years-long labor of love to a close.

I will renew the website and various subscriptions so that all of the episodes will be available for one more year (til Feb 2026!) in case you want to revisit or share any of the stories. And then I will archive them and let it all go. (sob!)

I do recommend listening to this last episode, and as a teaser, I made a list of the top three things I learned from all the conversations over the life of this project (not even including the magic of audio editing and creating an RSS feed!)

And in case you are interested in numbers, here are some fast facts for you: 7 years, 28 episodes, 1,300 minutes of content created, 4,500 times people have pressed play on an episode, likely over 1,000 hours of work put into creating it all, 3 different microphone setups, 2 websites, and 1 enormously grateful and humble host.

I am deeply, profoundly, and unbelievably moved by what these conversations have brought to my life, to our lives.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

for being a part of it, in whatever way you participated, by listening or sharing or supporting this effort, it has all contributed to the movement for more openness to conversations about death and dying and loss.

That is a brave and vulnerable thing to do.

P.S. One last poem for the poetry lovers. ;)
