Episode 3. Bikes, and bonfires, and the little moments - Anthony's Story
Note: I want to comment that we have some dialogue about suicide that some people might find controversial, or upsetting, or that they don't agree with. My intention is not to be divisive or insensitive. I understand that there are many many perspectives about suicide, and we might all relate to it in a different way depending on the circumstances of each loss. I hope that is clear in the interview, and if not, I'd love to engage in conversation with you about your thoughts! I recorded this conversation with Anthony in two phases. He lives in Portland like I do, so the first session was at his house, which is quieter than mine. He was finishing up folding some of his laundry and we made dinner together, so the scene was relaxed and slow paced and gentle, as is pretty much like any time I've spent with him. After we stopped recording, we both acknowledged that we had more to say that we wanted to bring up in conversation, so we scheduled a skype call one afternoon. There are some obvious inconsistencies in audio quality, and I had a hard time in general with strange echoes and white noise in the background. I hope this doesn't distract too much from the conversation. Still navigating this crazy world of audio editing! Anyway, thank you Anthony, for your time and your candor and enthusiasm for getting involved in this project! Below is a beautiful picture of Anthony's uncle Mark, engaging in one of his favorite activities: preparing for a bonfire.
